Applications: MOLCHLOR® TIN is primarily used as a reducing agent in the preparation of radiopharmaceutical kits for diagnostic imaging, including bone scans, cardiac scans and renal imaging. It facilitates the reduction of technetium-99m pertechnetate in cold kits. It is used in trace amounts to stabilize pharmaceutical formulations that are sensitive to oxidation.

1 Description It occurs a white, crystalline powder or colorless crystals, efflorescent in air.

(A) A blackish-gray precipitate forms.
(B) i. A yellowish, flocculent precipitate is formed.
ii. The precipitate dissolves, and the resulting solution is clear and colorless.
(C) It gives a reaction of chloride.
3 Solubility It is freely soluble in water (the solution becomes cloudy after standing or on dilution) and in alcohol. Dissolves in dilute hydrochloric acid.
4 Limit of Sulfate Any opalescence in the sample solution is not more intense than that in the standard solution (500 ppm).
5 Limit of Iron Any pink color in the sample solution is not more intense than that in the standard solution (100 ppm).
6 Limit of Lead Any color in the sample solution is not more intense than that in the standard solution (50 μg/g).
7 Appearance of solution The sample solution is clear and colorless, or if not, not more intensely colored than the standard solution.
8 Substances not precipitated by Sulfide The residue weighs not more than 1 mg (0.2%).
9 Assay Not less than 98.0% and not more than 102.0%.

PACKAGING

MOLCHLOR® TIN is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside and is provided with a barcoded label and a tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 5 years. Preserve in well-closed containers.
