It facilitates the reduction of technetium-99m pertechnetate in cold kits. It is used in trace amounts to stabilize pharmaceutical formulations that are sensitive to oxidation.

1 Appearance It occurs a white or almost white, crystalline powder or colourless crystals, efflorescent in air.

(A) A blackish-gray precipitate forms.

ii. The precipitate dissolves, and the resulting solution is clear and colorless.

3 Solubility It is freely soluble in water (the solution becomes cloudy after standing or on dilution), freely soluble in ethanol (96%). It dissolves in dilute hydrochloric acid.
4 Appearance of solution The solution is clear and colourless.
5 Substances not precipitated by thioacetamide Not more than 0.2%.
6 Sulfates Not more than 500 ppm.
7 Iron Not more than 100 ppm.
8 Assay Not less than 98.0% and not more than 102.0%.

PACKAGING

MOLCHLOR® TIN is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside and is provided with a barcoded label and a tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 5 years. Preserve in well-closed containers.
